General Ledger Accounting in SAP or FI-GL New is a module to capture everything related to external accounting and accounts. In order to create a comprehensive system that integrates all components of a company, correct and timely accounting data is required. It can be obtained using the New GL module in SAP. Not only it includes legal requirements but also covers parallel accounting, integration of management reporting with legal reporting, segment reporting, and cost of sales accounting.
The module is integrated with all application components of the SAP system that need to send important information to the General Ledger for reporting. These include Asset Accounting, Controlling, Human Capital Management, and Travel Management, among others. The module is composed of a number of functions to customize its features and output.
Essentially the General Ledger Accounting provides a complete picture of all business transactions involving the company’s assets and other financial resources. It receives real-time data for reporting and is therefore not only complete but also up to date. If you want to get an insight into your company’s individual transactions, you can refer to this module by interacting with it at different levels. In addition to account information and journals, total transactions figures and profit and loss evaluations can also be produced.
