BusinessWelcome to the Tutorial. This tutorial introduces core features of SAP Business Objects Data Services. The software is a component of the SAP Business Objects information management solutions and allows you to extract and integrate data for analytical reporting and e-business.
The following topics are included in SAP Business Objects Data Services Training:
You can transfer data with SAP Data Services, from version 4.0 and higher, from non-SAP sources (such as legacy systems) to SAP Net Weaver Business Warehouse. This is done using the business through the warehouse include BAPIs, Close integration of SAP Business Services in the concept of the flow of data in the warehouse business, supports Data Sources of object type RSDS.
Tables are supported as source objects. System source of data services type (specifically provided for Data Services) and the particularly close integration of SAP Business Objects Data Services and SAP Net Weaver Business Warehouse. Make it possible to create a connection to external systems, and to configure the transfer of external data within the Data Warehousing Workbench of the BW system. Using the Data Warehousing Workbench, you can search all the external Data Stores and metadata sources in the Data Services system.
And also you can identify any of the tables available in foreign regimes and identify tables that can be extracting them, and function data services running in the background on the transfer of data to the business warehouse structures. Using the Info Package in the BW system, you can generate a data flow between the source table and BW Data Source as a target object. You can also generate and run the extraction job and load job.
Data Merge is data traffic and a tool for integration. One of the main advantages is extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from heterogeneous sources into a target database or data warehouse. You create applications (jobs) that specify data mappings and transformations by using the Data Integrator Designer.
The Data Integrator product consists of several components including:
Data Integrator Designer:
Designer allows you to control the functions published in the data warehouse, such as create, test, and execute, Has several advantages such, it has a development tool with a graphical user interface is unique, and gives an advantage to developers by enabling them to create objects, then drag, drop, and configure them by selecting icons in a source-to-target flow diagram. It allows you to define data mappings, transformations, and control logic. Use the Designer to create applications specifying work flows (job execution definitions) and data flows (data transformation definitions).
Data Integrator Job Server:
The Job Server Is an application that is running the data integration processing engine and serves as an interface to the engine and other components in the Data Integrator suite.
Data Integrator engine:
The Data Integrator engine is the implementation of individual functions that are defined in the application that you created by using a designer, when you start the application stage when you start your application, the Data Integrator Job Server launches enough engines to effectively accomplish the defined tasks.
